Holiday Luncheon 2021

The AAUW Corpus Christi Branch held its traditional Holiday Luncheon on December 4, 2021.  Due to COVID restrictions, this was our first in-person gathering since the celebration held on March 7, 2020, for the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote.  The luncheon gave us an occasion to share holiday cheer and fellowship among the 24 members in attendance.

After enjoying sandwiches and salads for lunch, President Shirley Selz opened the business meeting with a welcome to all, followed by reports given by various board members and committee chairs.  Fun and laughter was added when Shirley led us in some games, breaking up in small groups to create answers to questions that had the rest of the room guessing answers for the truth.  Shirley also announced that the winner of the crossword puzzle was Michelle Balis.

Keeping with our holiday tradition, we held a silent auction and a raffle for gift card baskets to raise funds for the organization.  Auction bid winners went home with new treasures, and the gift card baskets winners were Peggy Duran and Mary Sorrells.  Congratulations to our winners, and Happy Holidays to all!
