GIRLS DISCOVER STEM

The AAUW Corpus Christi Branch sponsors a “Girls Discover STEM” program, providing opportunities for young girls to meet successful women with careers in STEM fields to boost their confidence and foster their interest in science, technology, engineering, and math.  The program combines field trips, hands-on experiences, and the opportunity to speak with women and men who are working in STEM careers to learn more about how their love for science, technology, engineering, and math led them to their careers and the work that they do on a daily basis.  This program launched in the spring of 2019, starting with a field trip to the Texas State Aquarium. Visit the Girls Discover STEM page to read about our events.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The AAUW Corpus Christi Branch has an active Community Outreach Committee that plans and implements a variety of community service projects throughout the year.  Committee members champion projects that are designed to directly impact our community by helping to break through the educational and economic barriers for women and girls.  To see more information on our latest activities, visit the Community Outreach page.

LIBRARY SUPPORT

The AAUW Corpus Christi Branch has a long history of providing support to our Corpus Christi Public Libraries.  By 2008, proceeds contributed to the Corpus Christi Library Foundation totaled over $125,000.  The funds were generated from the Branch’s annual book sales.  The Branch continues to host quarterly book sales, and a portion of the proceeds are contributed to the Public Library each year.  To view more information about our direct support to the Corpus Christi Public Libraries, visit the Library Support page.
