Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi and Del Mar College Endowed Scholarships

AAUW Branch President Shirley Selz and Finance Officer Dr. Vickie Natale signed the Endowed Scholarship Agreement.

The Corpus Christi Branch of the American Association of University Women enhanced its mission to advance educational opportunities and gender equity by establishing the American Association of University Women Endowed Scholarships at the Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi Foundation with an initial grant of $12,000, and at the Del Mar College Foundation with an initial grant of $10,000.

The presentations were made on August 30 and September 2, 2021, respectively. Funds have been raised by AAUW Corpus Christi Branch volunteers through periodic book sales at the Anita & W.T. Neyland Public Library and through online book sales. For many years, the AAUW Book Finders committee has diligently received, sorted, and categorized thousands of donated books to inspire readers of all ages to learn, expand their imaginations, and to support education. The newly endowed scholarships will add to the AAUW Corpus Christi Branch’s current annual direct grants of scholarships to students at Del Mar College and Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
